The Divisional Officer (Do) of Bamenda III, Ayuni Austin has beseeched the population of Nkwen to embrace peace and denounce separation.

He was speaking during the closing ceremony of the 2022 Bamenda III Council Festival of Heritage Arts and Culture (FEHACU) at the Fon’s Palace.

The DO who was a representative of the Governor at the event extolled the virtues of unity while denouncing selfishness as the cause of Cameroon’s problems:

“We must embrace unity and development and If you people can leave aside your self-interest and pride to come celebrate this festival, then we all must say no to terrorism, division and say yes to living together,” Ayuni Austin told attendees.

He further cautioned the population to learn how to solve some of their land disputes without involving the administration.

The administrator also underscored the importance of upholding cultural values:

“Culture is the people’s identity, you can see it through the dance groups and dressing. Thank you all, especially those who honoured the invitation”, he concluded.

The Ceremony ended with awards of prizes to dance groups and individuals who took part in the festivities.
