President Biya has ordered the arrest of some soldiers for their role and implication in the killing of women and babies in Ngarbuh-Ntunbaw North West region of Cameroon.
This follows the result of findings conducted by the Head of State’s commission of inquiry created to investigate the incident which took place in on February 14th this year.
According to the report, victims “will be compensated” while military men who committed the act “will be prosecuted”.
The government had blatantly denied killing the at least 35 women, children and youths – said Ambazonian fighters were responsible. In another outing, it claimed the victims died in a crossfire following an exchange between the military and separatists.
The international community had mounted pressure on the government for justice to prevail. Details of today’s decision by President Biya later!
