Bruno Bidjang, a Vision 4 journalist who was close to Cabrel Nanjip Nyamton before his demise has said the comedian was traveling to Yaounde to get his visa.
The renowned Cameroonian comedian was on his way to Yaoundé from Douala for an appointment at the Canadian Embassy when the unfortunate incident happened, MMI has learned.
“30 kilometers from Edéa in the village of Ebombe Logbi, Cabrel who was completing a bend was surprised to meet a heavy-duty truck that was trying to overtake another heavy-duty truck,” narrated Bidjang.
He went on that, “…Cabrel chose not to rush straight towards the truck, but rather fell back to the left side of the road. His intention was to rescue himself, and his manager and avoid the worst, but he will be unlucky.”
With the high speed with which he drove, the right wing of his vehicle crashed the truck which was being overtaken. “As he attempted to fall back on the left side, it was too late.”
He was immediately transported to the Regional Hospital in Edéa where he died moments later.
Cabrel who died at the age of 33 has featured in dozens of skits, comedy shows and movies.
He also signed ambassador deals with several brands.
