Cameroon: Woman throws Newborn in toilet after successfully hiding pregnancy from family

The unbelievable yet true incident took place in Sanga neighborhood in Bangoulap, a town in the West region of Cameroon, on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Many were left in shock and consternation after a woman threw her newborn into a pit toilet after successfully hiding her pregnancy from the family.

Motué Pauline put to birth and decided to throw her newborn baby in a pit toilet.

Motué had succeeded to deceive her family that “the pregnancy symptoms were rather those of malaria,” recounted a source.

The cries of the newborn baby from the toilet however alerted locals who quickly came together and retrieved the newborn baby from the toilet.

“The baby is doing well,” added our source.

Motué who has not been able to explain her actions was apprehended by Gendarmes.
