A Clandestine firearms fabrication plant has been dismantled in the Manengwassa neighborhood in Loum, Mungo division of the Littoral Region.
The firearms fabrication plant was discovered by the forces of law and order in the town.
According to Essono Edou, w police commissioner, “02 guns, 10 riffles, 4 of which contained triggers, 9 barrels, and some elements to fabricate munitions and arms,” amongst others, were discovered at the fabrication plant.
Two suspected manufacturers were found at the scene and apprehended for interrogation.
When interrogated, the suspected manufacturers indicated that they supply the arms mainly to hunters whose identities they are not ready to unveil.
Investigations are however ongoing to ascertain if the manufacturing of these arms has a link with the ongoing Anglophone crisis plaguing the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.
