At least four students and a teacher of Government Bilingual High School, Ekondo Titi, in the Ndian Division, South West Region have died after an attack on the school by gunmen. Neither the military nor separatists have accepted responsibility for the act. Eyewitnesses however point to separatist fighters as being responsible.


The Divisional Officer for Ekondo Titi in the South West Region has accused separatist fighters of today’s attack that left six dead. Speaking shortly after the incident, the administrator, Timothé Abola said security was being stepped up in the SubDivision to prevent any of such happenings in the future.


Following the gunning down of a teacher and four students today at Government Bilingual High School Ekondo Titi, most separatist leaders have maintained sealed lips. Witnesses say an explosive went off in the school shortly before the attackers identified as separatist fighters, opened fire on the students and their teacher.

A book titled ‘Kumba! The Innocent’s Blood’ was launched in Yaounde today. The work which is an anthology of poems, letters, and articles, was written by four prominent female authors, as a tribute to victims of last year’s school shooting in Kumba, South West Region.


Security forces today stormed Hilton Hotel in Yaounde to prevent a public meeting by the Cameroon Democratic Union (CDU) party. The said meeting was aimed at raising awareness and calling for changes to the country’s electoral code.



Residents of Buea in the South West Region have decried the rise in cases of petty theft in their neighborhoods. Over the last weeks, the number of thieves caught in action in different parts of the town, they say, has increased. A similar situation is often recorded in Cameroon’s major towns on the eve of festive periods.


Two suspected thieves were arrested in Yaoundé by Gendarmes in possession of a car belonging to missionaries. The car is alleged to have been stolen alongside some money and other valuable items.


A lecturer at the University of Bamenda, Dr. Ngoh Christopher has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown men in Bamenda. The motive behind the abduction has not yet been made known.


Moki Regan, a journalist with My Media Prime in Douala has been released on bail by authorities of the South West Gendarmerie Legion. He was arrested this morning at the Mile 14 checkpoint in Buea, South West Region by Gendarmes. He is accused of obstructing the job of gendarmes at a checkpoint.


Cameroon has been given until November 30 by CAF to finish works at the Olembe Football Stadium. CAF has criticized Cameroon for giving false reports on the progress of work at the stadium. CAF has said the stadium might not host the open ceremony of the tournament if work is not completed.
