Cameroon’s Ministry of commerce has dismissed recent information circulating on social media about rotten fish being sold by private-owned large scale fish dealer Congelcam.
According to the rumour, Congelcam is being called out for selling fish that has spent months out of proper conditions. This has resulted to the fish getting rotten yet the dealer still goes ahead to sell to the population regardless of the health impact.
The information went as far as citing Congelcam’s slaes points in the Centre, South, East and Adamaoua regions. Calling on the forces of law and order to ensure that such the fish dealer is shutdown immediately.
The Ministry of Commerce has debunked the information initiated by Shance Lion, a social media platform which according to them wants to discredit the long time existing company.
The ministry is calling on the population to ignore such information because there is no such thing as rotten fish sold by Congelcam which is a regulated company according to them.
