An explosive device has gone off at the Ayaba Hotel in Bamenda. Reports say the road to the hotel remains blocked as forces of law and order have been dispatched to the scene, for findings.
“It exploded when the military who were around had given a distance away from the spot,” a source in the area told MMI a moment ago.
Our informant, adds that: “the road was blocked since 7:30am till 10am when it exploded. Till now the road is still blocked by the military”.
Today’s blast is not the first of its kind, as several of such explosions have hit the restive town of Bamenda over the last months.
Similar blasts have also been witnessed in Cameroon’s capital city, Yaounde – prompting a crackdown on Anglophone inhabited areas in the town.
