Garoua: Prof. Maurice Kamto survives assassination attempt

Two men have been arrested and detained in Garoua North region of Cameroon. The two men have been accused of attempting to assassinate prof. Maurice Kamto;leader of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) Party.

According to Prof. Alain Fogue; treasurer of CRM party ” the two men who claimed to be security officers attempted to pull the triger against Professor Maurice Kamto when the party’s security service in the convoy quickly arrested the men”.

Militants of the CRM party say the suspected assassins should be interrogated to say why they attempted to assassinate the leader of the CRM party.

Prof. Maurice Kamto and other militants of his party arrived Garoua today Friday March 13th 2020. This is his first visit to the North region since he returned from a tour abroad.
