Health Minister, Dr Manaouda Malachie has revealed that the use of Hydroxidchloroquine is the secret behind Cameroon’s high recovery rate.

Cameroon boasts of being one of the countries with the highest recovery rates of Covid-19 patients on the continent and in the world at large.

minister Manaouda has attributed the successful handling of the coronavirus patients to the use of Hydroxidchloroquine by the medical corps in the country..

He made the revelation during the weekly meetings of the inter-ministerial committee to evaluate government’s response strategy against the covid-19 pandemic.

Minister Manaouda Malachie said the drug has been yielding positive results and has contributed in maintaining the country’s recovery rate at excellent levels.

The minster was however quite adamant to the fact that Cameroonians take the pandemic lightly as he ascertains it is a deadly disease easier to spread than most other diseases and hence Cameroonians must keep to preventive measures such as wearing of facemasks and the compulsory wearing of facemasks by all Cameroonians. This effect the Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development to see to see to the fact that all mayors across the national territory actively get involved in enforcing the mandatory wearing of facemasks in all public places. The inter-ministerial committee believe that matching the use of Hydroxidchloroquine with the respect of preventive measures will yield even better results for Cameroon.
Late last month, Cameroonian born medical doctor (Paediatrician) in the U.S, Dr Stella Immanuel was lambasted on the media with all her social media accounts suspended because she made a strong case of the effectiveness of Hydroxidchloroquine in the treatment of covid-19, claiming she had cured more than 350 patients with the drug. Her content was deleted from social media platforms like Facebook and Youtube, while many have claimed she should not be trusted for her religious leanings, many however believe she has a compelling case and should be trusted as she has claimed curing more than 300 hundred with little or no after effects.
