Cameroon’s first daughter, Brenda Biya, has taken to thread, Meta’s text version of Instagram, to tell her followers she knows “homeless people that are treated better than me.”
Brenda Biya added that “sometimes, life sucks you dry, it’s alright to face the truth.”
Ms Biya’s post came as a surprise to some fans who believe that as a daughter of an acting president, she should not complain as she is living lavishly.
“At least you travel the world on private jets, eat in 5-star restaurants, sleep in 5-star hotels,” Steve, one of her followers questioned, adding that “What else did you expect from your family?”
But Ms Biya responded, saying she expects “actual love.”
Brenda Biya’s tantrums
This is not the first time Ms Biya is venting on social media. In other previous posts, Ms Biya sounded as though she was alone and abandoned. “If u only knew how miserable people really are behind close doors, you will immediately stop envying their lives,” she said.
She also posted earlier saying, “Sometimes ur so alone in what ur going thru internet is ur only friend.”
During COVID-19, Brenda Biya appeared in a video which she shared with her followers seemingly held against her will. In the videos, she could be heard telling her followers to see what was being done to her by “les mbele du pays” loosely translated as “soldiers of my country.” In the video, Brenda sounded like a prisoner, who was fighting hard to be set free. The government has never reacted to those claims.
Is Brenda Biya right?
On January 18, 2025, Ms Biya launched a gigantic cosmetic shop in Yaounde, capital city of Cameroon. She said during the even that ‘Bree Cosmetics” was meant to redefine beauty and make women happy about themselves.
But during the ceremony, which was apparently one of Brenda’s major achievements, her parents; President Paul Biya and Chantal Biya, were absent.
Critics questioned why the presidential couple would be conspicuously absent in such ‘memorable day’ in their daughter’s life.
In 2024, Brenda Biya opened up about her sexuality. She also identified as a man and referred to herself as “King Nasty.”
But in another post in December 2024, she said she wanted “to rebrand as Anastasia.” Brenda Anastasia Biya is her name from birth. It remains unclear why she is ‘rebranding’.
