Reactions have continued to pour in since Cameroon’s Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, made a dramatic cessation from President Paul Biya’s government, where he has held three ministerial posts.

On his Facebook, the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Justice, Jean De Dieu Momo, expressed disbelief and disappointment, calling Tchiroma’s action “a high treason.”

Though he did not detail Tchiroma’s exact move, Momo’s tone suggests a sense of betrayal within the elite of the ruling CPDM party.

“My brother Issa Tchiroma really surprised me. And now, how will President Paul Biya look at me? As if I’m going to do the same thing too? Certainly not!” wrote Momo.

He referenced the predictions of Professor Pierre Nka, stating that “the future he predicted is unfolding before our eyes.”

Momo completely dismissed any possibilities of him also resigning from the Biya government, whose trajectory remains uncertain as the country prepares for a Presidential election holding in October.

“I’m not cr8zy to resign when I’ve been given the rare privilege to serve the people from a position handed to me on a golden plate by President Paul Biya,” he added.

“I’ve gone too far in my support to turn back.”

Jean de Dieu Momo reaffirmed his unwavering allegiance to President Paul Biya, distancing himself from any perceived acts of defiance.

Tchiroma, once a staunch defender of the regime and former Minister of Communication, has long been a polarizing figure in Cameroonian politics.

His recent silence and movements have raised eyebrows, triggering debates about loyalty, ambition, and political survival.

Observers say this unfolding saga may signal deeper cracks within the ruling structure, especially among senior allies of President Biya.
