Security forces in Kumba have arrested Makia Enow Ayuk, chairman of polling station C and representative of Elections Cameroon .
According to Big Da Um Rufus, the Social Democratic Front (SDF) Kumba 3 Electoral District Chairman, Makia Enow Ayuk was caught with ballot boxes stocked with envelopes even before the start of voting. Um Rufus accused the polling station chair of voting 89 times.
“When we arrived there a few minutes to 8:00 am Sunday 9th February 2020, 89 people had already voted but curious enough there was no one in the the polling station and no signature in the books to confirm that. Makia voted for the CPDM party . It is then that we called the security and he has been arrested, ” Um Rufus said.
Another source at Deligent Bilingual Academy Kumba where the incident took place has attested that Makia Enow Ayuk attempted a similar fraud incident at polling station E.
According to the SDF party member, there have been threats from the CPDM party supporters to use all means possible to win in the town including fraud.
Meantime, voting started at Kumba 2 and 3 at 9:00 am . A local reporter has confirmed to Mimi Mefo Info that “ELECAM officials were attacked at Kumba 3 at about 7:45 am thereby causing the delay”.
