Journalist Shey Lashengang Godbless presents tears provoking poem on World Press Freedom Day
You want to suppress the ink you dishonest one. Let the ink flow.
Your prize is unknown beyond human knowledge,
You don’t want the ink to flow. Let the ink flow.
You have murdered, and think you can murder the ink; Let the ink flow.
If you can slaughter us, we will have no grave. Let the ink flow.
Can you bury the ink? Its resurrection will be deadly. Let the ink flow.
For a thousand years in the grave, we will not decay. Let the ink flow.
We correct, we do not punish. You want to punish us, only punishing yourself. Let the ink flow.
Has the ink food, water, clothes, a car, a house? Do we occupy any space? Why fight us? Innocent as you are oh ink. Let the ink flow.
Has anybody ever killed the ink? Let the ink flow.
Little, we may seem, but broader than the baobab tree we are;
Stronger than lions combined; let the ink flow.
You can try to silence us, remember, Mr. Death is watching at you.
Our own duty on earth was to flow. Let the ink flow.
