A man in Dschang has confessed to the brutal murder of his wife, who was a recently qualified state nurse, in a chilling act of domestic violence.
The murder occurred on Wednesday evening as the woman returned home from work. Her husband, driven by what investigators believe was intense jealousy, attacked her, repeatedly stabbing her with a knife. She died on the spot.
Following the murder, the man surrendered to the police, reportedly completely naked.
He confessed to the crime. Police have taken him into custody and have opened a full investigation.
The couple leaves behind two young children, now half orphaned and facing an uncertain future.
Investigators are exploring all possible motives for the crime, including reports that the husband may have been triggered by information he found on the wife’s phone.
However, authorities stress that the investigation is ongoing and have urged against speculation.
The woman’s body is at a mortuary in Dschang, awaiting funeral arrangements.
