Mob roasts man alive in Bafoussam over theft

A man whose name MMI could not immediately get, accused of having attempted stealing a motorbike in Bafoussam , West region has been burnt to death. A group of taxi drivers in the city alongside motorcycle riders are said to have to set the suspect ablaze at a place known as Carrefour Tek on May 14.


According to sources, the suspect was caught at night by commercial motorcycle riders. The bikers are said to have accused him of attempting to forcefully take way the motorcycle of another biker.


Other suspects with whom the victim was accused of having engaged in the act are said to have escaped. The angry group of bikers are said to have first tortured the suspect before later using fuel and car tyres to set him ablaze.


He was found the following morning burnt beyond recognition. Bafoussam has in recent times been recording incidents of theft that sometimes result in the killing of people.


Recently , a student, of GBHS Bafoussam, Xavier Ghoda was stabbed to death by suspected hoodlums on his way back from school. We can also recall the raping to death of an Anglophone crisis IDP in the same town in the month of March this year.
