Ahead of Cameroon’s twin elections on February 9, dozens of youth were arrested in Muyuka, South West region of the country.
But they are still being held incommunicado, a source has confirmed .‘‘They have not been released… families don’t even know their whereabouts till date…and they are worried,‘‘ a relative of those arrested told Mimi Mefo Info.
It is not known why they were arrested by security forces. They were picked up on February 3, few days after the Yaounde government dispatched over 700 troops to ensure an election void of hitches.
But it seems soldiers failed in that mission following a recent decision by the Constitutional Council to annull election results in 11 constituencies in the restive North West and South West regions.
