Some representatives of workers of the Nachtigal Hydroelectric Power Dam were arrested on the instructions of the institution’s management following a strike action staged last March 12, 2021.
The workers say their protest was the result of the non-payment of their bonuses, racial abuses, and gross intimidation from the authorities of the company overseeing the construction of the Natchtigal Hydroelectric Power Dam.
The protesting workers were in turn arrested over a week ago for defamation of character. They have been detained since without definitive progress in their case.
The family members of those arrested are in distress given that most of them are fathers with wives and children who depend entirely on them.
