1 A five day strike observe by lawyers in Cameroon suffers a set back. Bar.Fotso Fostine Kamdem has been defending her clients in courts in Douala and Yaounde this week. The lawyer says she is a patriotic Cameroonian and will not want to disappoint her clients. She launches a call for other lawyers to abandon the course and continue with their professional activities.

2 “Security forces in the North West should hunt and get killers of a woman in Guzang Momo Division”. That is a call from the Minister of Territorial Administration. Paul Atanga Nji says government will locate the site where the woman was buried alive, exhumed the body and give her a befitting burial.

3 Minister Paul Atanga Nji has offered material assistance to internally displaced persons in Bamenda. He called on fighters in the bushes to lay their arms and go for the advantages provided to them by the government. Motorcycles and other equipment will be distributed to members of the vigilante group in Bamenda in the days ahead, it was announced.

4 Families of victims of road accident in Pouma, September 19, 2019 have been retrieving corpses of relatives who died in the accident. A collision between a seventy seater Guaranti Bus and a truck led to the death of nine people and others wounded according to officials. The Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe visited the victims.

5 Ambazonia Defence Forces still insist that they kidnapped the divisional officer of Mbengwi centre Sub Division Momo division in the North West of Cameroon despite a confirmation by the Divisional Officer that he is safe and sound. “Let him show proof that news of his abduction was fake by doing a video to debunk it,” some Ambazonian activists said Thurday. They have not been able to publish a video showing the DO in their custody either. The DO told Mimi Mefo Info on phone that he was never kidnapped.

6 Arch Bishop Samuel Kleda of the Douala Metropolitan archdiocese has said government can not convene a dialogue to solve a crisis that it is part of and then be the one to preside over it at the same time.
Speaking at the St Peter and Paul Cathedral in Douala, the man of God said the presence of the prime minister at the head of the announced Dialogue process risk the repetition the history of the 1990s tripartite. He regrets that dialogue is coming three year after the anglophone crisis has caused untold suffering. His lordship Samuel Kleda says the voice of the church must be highly considered if the state of Cameroon must forge ahead and in peace.

7 The main convener of the anglophone general conference has presented a 400 page proposal to the Prime Minister ahead of national dialogue, starting September 30, 2019. His Eminence Cardinal Tumi and other conveners of the conference were received Thursday the PM Dion Ngute. Politicians like Serge Espoir Matomba, Cabral Libii and Garga Haman Adji have equally submitted their proposals to the prime minister.

8 The governor of the South West Region has called on anglophones to tell their brothers and sister in the bushes to come back to normal life. Bernard Okalia Bilia says amba boys and girls are not spirits but people that have relatives living in towns and villages. He has called on decision makers in the region to attend a preparatory meeting next Wednesday ahead of national dialogue.

9 A Soldier with the Cameroonian army whose name we got as Winwe, has just murdered his colleague in Douala at the Essengue neighborhood. He is said to have shot his colleague thrice, after a misunderstanding. They are both members of the Rapid Intervention Battalion BIRs, working in Douala.

10 There is panic in Makepe Misoke Douala 5 subdivision, following the discovery of the dead body of a 31-year old man, in a place known as Palaise Misoke a major junction in the neighborhood.
It is not certain who or what killed the young man but elements of the fire fighting unit and the forces of law and order were there for an assessment mission.

11 A truck driver is currently being detained at the Pk10 neighborhood, Douala after he crushed to death two persons onboard a motorcycle. His vehicle lost it breaks as he descended towards PK12.

12 A teacher is currently battling for his life in a hospital in Bafoussam West region of Cameroon after being beaten to near death by a military officer. The military officer who is a parent accused the teacher of punishing his child in school. The child in question failed to do an academic assignment given by the class teacher.

13 Governor Adolph Lele d’Afrique of the North West region says proposals from the people of the region ahead of the national dialogue announced by president Paul Biya are currently being assembled, to be forwarded in Yaoundé. He was speaking at the end of a pre-dialogue consultations meeting in Bamenda.

14 Military has been accused of Killing at least seven persons in Mile 14 Muyenge, Fako Division, South West region. Critics have questioned the impact on the dialogue called by President Paul Biya.

15 Tunisia’s former President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali has died in exile aged 83, his family says.
Ben Ali led the country for 23 years and was credited with delivering stability and some economic prosperity.

16 Liberia’s President George Weah has declared Thursday a national day of mourning following a deadly fire at a boarding school in the country.
The fire on Wednesday left at least 27 people dead, many of them children.
