The Nigerian government has confirmed that four kidnapped victims have been rescued and are currently receiving medical attention after sustaining gunshot wounds during their period in captivity.
According to officials, the victims were immediately attended to following their rescue by security operatives.
Authorities further recalled that the wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar (rtd) had earlier been freed in a related military operation.
The government noted that the four rescued individuals were among those previously seen in a photograph circulating on social media alongside the late senior military officer while they were still in captivity.
Commending the development, the state government praised the bravery, professionalism, and commitment of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies involved in the rescue mission. It said ongoing coordinated operations continue to record significant gains in the fight against banditry and kidnapping across affected areas.
Authorities also assured residents that security forces are actively tracking Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and other armed groups responsible for repeated attacks on communities. They emphasized that operations will continue until all perpetrators of violence against innocent civilians are apprehended and brought to justice.
