At least ten sheepherders have been abducted in Oshie village located in Njikwa, Momo Division in Cameroon’s North West Region.
A source from the village says the captives were taken by four gunmen to an undisclosed location on Saturday January 15, 2022.
Another source from Oshie told Mimi Mefo Info that the 10 Shepherds who work together had gone up to the hill where their sheep were grazing.
“When they got there, they met with some gunmen… who whisked them off to an undisclosed location,” revealed the source who refused to be named.
At press time, the identity of the kidnappers is yet to be known.
According to our informant from Oshie village, they are convinced that “the gunmen are neither the military, nor separatist fighters. They are thieves,” he claimed.
For now, the abductors are believed to have called the families of their victims and demanded a ransom fee to be paid to secure their release.
