Claudy Siar, a journalist working for Radio France International (RFI), has joined the chorus of condemnation for the heinous murder of Cameroonian radio host Martinez Zogo.
The media personality took to his official Facebook page to note that the perpetrators of the gruesome act must be found.
“When he (the perpetrator) has been arrested and judged, his name will be a defilement for his family and his children! We won’t let go,” Siar wrote.
Martinez Zogo was found dead in an isolated location in Cameroon’s capital city, some hours ago, less than one week after he was abducted.
Siar’s call for the need for justice is best understood against the backdrop of persistent failures by the Cameroonian justice system to bring perpetrators of such crimes to justice.
A case in point remains the murder of journalist Samuel Wazizi in 2020, which despite national and international condemnation, has not resulted in anyone being held accountable.
