Senegalese superstar Sadio Mane is globally recognised as one of the very best football players in the world today. He shone brightly during his spell at Liverpool FC, in England, where he won almost all trophies at club level.
During his time in England and subsequently, in Bayern Munich, Mane was noted for being very modest and not very extravagant. Despite being a multi-millionaire, Mane never lived the lavish lifestyle most footballers are known for, rather choosing to use his money to execute several huge projects back in Senegal.
As a native of Bambali, in the West African country, Sadio Mane once told the media that it was no use spending extravagant sums on luxury, rather than making life easy for his people.
Mane has funded several projects in the village in a charitable quest to turn the village into a well-resourced city. According to the Mirror, his staggering generosity has seen him pledge almost £750 000 on new buildings in the small town, including a £455 000 hospital he funded in 2021, which serves more than 30 nearby areas.
The player also spent a whooping £250 000 on a primary school, that is serving close to 2000 pupils in Bambali. He also grants an annual scholarship of £400 to top performing students of the Bambali High School.
Added to all these, Mane also opened a brand new petrol station in June 2022 and pledged to build a post office in the community. His desire, many say is to grow the village economically and turn it into a smooth functioning area of the West African country, as he also gives each family in the small town a monthly support package of €70.
