Staff at Cameroon High Commission in London Denied Access by Activists
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Activists of the Brigade Anti-Sardinard (BAS) and West Cameroon Movement for Change (WCMC) today blocked the main entrance to the Cameroon High Commission in London, using chains tied around their waists, and the gates of the building. This happened today Thursday 5th September 2019, between 7 am and 3 pm.

Their action led to the staff of the High Commission unable to access the building. The UK police attended the scene twice during the course of the day but did not remove the chained protesters.

The activists said their main demands which were handed in writing to the High Commissioner included: the release of all political prisoners; the initiation of inclusive dialogue to end the conflict in the North West and South West Regions and the creation of an enabling environment for schools to resume.

This is the second time that these activists have blocked access to the High Commission, the first of which was August 5th 2019.
