Cameroonian gospel minister Sylva Bright has released Marvellous God, a nine-track worship album celebrating faith, perseverance and God’s unfailing goodness.
Acclaimed Cameroonian gospel artist and worship leader Sylva Bright has officially unveiled his latest album, Marvellous God.
The 32-minute project features nine songs centred on hope, healing, victory and complete trust in God. It also marks another milestone in Bright’s musical journey, which began in Cameroon and has developed into an international ministry based in Australia.
From Bright Phase to the international stage
Sylva Bright first gained prominence as the leader of Bright Phase, a Cameroonian gospel group whose music attracted audiences across Cameroon and other parts of West Africa.
Bright travelled extensively with the group, ministering in towns and cities including Ndop, Muyuka, Kumba, Dschang, Yaoundé and Douala. He also performed on university campuses, using music to preach the Gospel and reach young people.
A major moment in his early career came in 2010, when Bright Phase performed during the Kora Awards alongside prominent African artists, including Fally Ipupa, Extra Musica and P-Square.
The experience helped establish Bright as one of Cameroon’s emerging gospel voices and laid the foundation for his subsequent work as a worship leader.
A new chapter in Australia
Following the dissolution of Bright Phase, Sylva Bright relocated to Australia, where he continued developing his music and ministry.
He now serves as a ministry leader at one of Western Australia’s largest churches. His work includes mentoring choirs, training young worship leaders and helping emerging gospel artists develop their talent.
Bright also leads the Hosanna Australia Association Incorporated, an organisation dedicated to promoting gospel music and creating opportunities for new artists.
‘Marvellous God’ celebrates faith and perseverance
Bright describes Marvellous God as a testimony to God’s faithfulness throughout his personal, musical and spiritual journey.
The album combines contemporary gospel sounds with passionate worship. Its songs address different moments in the Christian experience, from seeking the presence of the Holy Spirit to trusting God during uncertainty.
Tracks such as Winner and God Is Making a Way carry messages of hope and victory, while No Turning Back and Trust in God Alone focus on commitment and unwavering faith.
The title track, Marvellous God, reinforces the album’s central declaration that God remains dependable despite life’s difficulties.
