The Newly appointed commander of Gendarmerie brigade in Tombel is dead.
Assoue Assoue Alain was met lying dead in his bed Thursday morning. Many inhabitants in Tombel, Kupe-Muanenguba Division said they saw him on Wednesday carrying out routine patrols in town.
The cause of his death remains unknown. Other sources said, he is believed to have died in his sleep though blood stains were spotted on his bed when his body was found.
He had been transferred to Tombel two weeks before his demise.
The diseased gendarmerie commander hailed from the Bakossi Tribe. Government is yet to issue a statement.
