Artists in Cameroon say some companies are taking advantage of past division among them not to pay author’s right and they want these companies to pay their arrears. The president, of the Authors’ Rights Corporation, Dr. Ateh Francis says they will make sure that the money is recovered even if it means launching protests.


Work has temporarily stopped at a construction site in Akwa, Douala following the death of a worker at the site this day. The boy fell from the building under construction. Twenty five other workers injured are receiving treatment at Laquitini hospital after a portion of the structure collapsed.


Awah Fonka Augustine, Governor of the West region has once again called on the population to collaborate with military to stop activities of the separatists. Today, two military men were killed in Bamboutos division by armed separatists from the North West region.


Tenants of a three storey building at Logbessou Douala are urgently quitting the property as the building is showing signs of an eminent collapse. The owner of the building is making plans to demolish the building and avoid disaster. Authorities have not issued any official statement following the issue.


Cameroon and Nigeria are facing secession movements from Ambazonians and Biafrans respectively. To launch a common fight along the borders, Cameroon’s minister delegate in charge of Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu has been granted audience by president Mohamadu Buhari of Nigeria. It remains unclear if the two countries will embrace dialogue or hold on to military might to solve the problem.


Martin Camus Mimb and his friend, Eteki Wilfred will for the first time appear in court in an ongoing sextape leak scandal. The Bonanjo court of first instance will handle the case which will begin on July 24.


A suspected child rapist in Yaoundé has been apprehended and is at the Yaoundé Kondengui prison. Though the mother of the 4-year-old insists the arrested raped her child, a majority of his neighbours and others insist he didn’t do it. Investigations are still ongoing.
