Two persons have been reported dead with another under critical condition in the hospital following a military raid in Kupe Manenguba division of the South West region.

The deadly raid took place Tuesday.

“One of the deceased who’s name we got as Diamele ( picture below) was shot in Mualong village while the other was shot dead in Balock, some people living in Baboubock are now homeless after their houses were set on fire,” narrated a source to Mimi Mefo Info.

Mualong and Balock are situated in Bangem, Kupe Manenguba of the South West region.

The source also said, “one person who was also shot in Mualong is in hospital and we cannot tell if he will survive”.

It is not known why government soldiers raided villages in Kupe Manenguba, considered as one of the strongholds of separatist fighters, but the population has been left to bear the brunt.

Recently government dispatched 700 troops to the restive Anglophone regions to crush separatists and frustrate all their election boycott move. The latter maintain the election will not hold.
