Two persons, a lady, and a bike rider are fighting for their lives at the Mbingo Baptist Hospital in Bamenda after they were involved in a ghastly road accident, Wednesday, January 19, 2021.

The two were descending the station hill on a brand new motorbike in the afternoon hours of the day when a 70 seater bus belonging to a Bamenda-based travel agency knocked them down from behind.

Eyes witnesses say the bike rider sustained serious wounds on his leg while the lady onboard the motorbike also suffered some serious injuries.

“Thee lady was crying and saying she was feeling pains in her chest,” an eye witness told our reporters.

At the Mbingo Annex Hospital where they were rushed to, our correspondent could see her being attended to by medics.

She had a swollen face and her whole body covered with dust indicative of the severity of the accident.

What did not go down well with many at the scene of the accident was that Police officers came and were rather causing more traffic.

In their usual way of doing things, they mounted a checkpoint where the accident took place and started collecting monies from bikes and township taxis in the name of doing control.

There has been no word as to who the driver of the vehicle was and his whereabouts.

At the time of the accident, the vehicle had only the driver on board.
