27-year-old Njafect Felix and Febkwi Henry have been shot dead in their native Nwa, Donga Mantung division in the North West region.

According to a source, “government soldiers arrived there at 5AM, surrounded the whole village… harassed the people and extorted money and valuables.”

The uniformed officer he adds “collected money from a sick father and killed two people in their operation”.

Before being killed, Henry and Felix were reportedly accused of having alliances with separatist fighters in the area.

“They were buried without a coffin” says the source who says he worries about the security of villagers as well as their future.

“This same thing happened last time, and people didn’t have time to cultivate their crops… many will certainly die of famine this year” he warns.

This is not the first time soldiers are accused of carrying out extra judicial killings in the restive North West and South West regions. Months ago, over 34 were killed in a massacre in Ngarbuh village still in the Donga Mantung division.
