The health situation of Jean Fai Fungong is not known five days after he was beaten by eight defense and security forces in Ndu, Donga Mantung Division in the North West Region of Cameroon.

Speaking to Mimi Mefo Info Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, the Director of Nkambe District Hospital attests that Jean Fai Fungong is receiving medical attention in the hospital.

Dr. Moyeh Justice has not given further details on the health situation of the man while promising that “…I will call you later to talk on that”.

A source at the Nkambe District Hospital has hinted that on the instruction from the administration, no one has been given access to see Jean Fai in his room in the hospital.

According to the source, ” …I am wondering what type of treatment Jean Fai is receiving in such a hospital that has not had electricity for over a month today”.

To the man, given the gravity of injuries inflicted on Jean Fai Fungong by eight elements of the defense and security forces in Ndu on Thursday, February 11th, he deserves to be evacuated to a state-of-the-art hospital in Bamenda.

Jean Fai Fungong was transported to Nkambe in a deplorable health condition.

A family source says Jean Fai had earlier been suffering from visual impairment.

Cameroon’s ministry of defense says two soldiers, two gendarmes, and four policemen who beat Jean Fai with a machete while pouring water on him have been arrested.
