America-based Cameroonian pop star, fashion designer and entrepreneur, Reprudencia Ndong Sonkey – popularly called Dencia, has sued President Paul Biya’s daughter, Anastasie Brenda Biya Eyenga, for reportedly defaming her.
She filed the case at the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles, on March 15, claiming damages amounting to 66.9 billion francs.
Dencia says Brenda caused her emotional distress and loss of earnings when she took to social media to call her a drug dealer and a prostitute.
“She made me lose a lot of money with her lies. Stop lying on people. When I gave her the option to withdraw, she threatened my family, threatened to hurt me family. She even said I can’t go to Cameroon,” Dencia said in a Facebook post.
In the lawsuit, she is claiming damages for defamation of character, loss of earnings, loss of future earnings, emotional distress and medical expenses that resulted from Brenda Biya’s statements.
She said the lawsuit is against Brenda and others who joined her to defame her character.
Aside the civil lawsuit in the US, Dencia says she has also filed a criminal case of defamation in Switzerland against Brenda Biya.
