Bidjang Bruno, Owona Thaddée, Seme Ekong Mathieu Berthand journalists from Vision 4 were sanctioned following a complaint by Mangan Richard Olivier, on Thursday, July 28, 2022.

On Sunday, July 31, 2022, Bruno Bidjang was spotted presenting the program “Club d’Élites” despite its suspension, thus challenging the National Council of Communication.

It should be recalled it is not the first time the NCC is being defied by sanctioned pressmen. The body continues to be seen as weak by many, given its lack of ability to followup on its sanctions.

The National Communication Council, NCC equally sanctioned over a dozen other pressmen.

It was disclosed in a release signed July 28, 2022, by the NCC president, Joseph Chebonkeng.

Amongst the said journalists, is Bia Nnama Christophe of Vison 4, sanctioned for biased reports on the taxation department.

He received a two-month suspension.

A one-month suspension was as well given to the publishers of La Republique, L’Elite, Le PELICAN, PERSPECTIVES d’Afrique, Le Quotidien, and Le national.

According to the Guardian Post, they were sanctioned “for publishing statements and allegedly unfounded accusations, presenting Maurice Kamto, leader of Cameroon Renaissance Movement, MRC party, and the political party as conspirators aiming to destabilize Cameroon.”

Journalist Sismondi Barlev was given a three-month suspension, while The publisher of L’expression and the newspaper were equally suspended.

They were accused of publishing unfounded, offensive accusations against Hon Koah Songo Gabriel.
