Elderly woman butchered in Penka Michele

The insecurity in the West Region town of Penka Michele has once more hit hard with an elderly woman of 68 years old now confirmed dead after being butchered by thugs.

According to media reports, the five young men last Thursday showed up at the home of 68-year-old Julienne Massi and her husband, 88-year-old Jean Tsana requesting to buy cigarettes.

The couple indicated to the young men that the cigarettes had all been sold, and that it would only be available when they will go and buy from the main market.

The five men who were armed with machetes, reports say, brought them out and started butchered the old man.

His wife who tried to intervene too was seized and butchered by the men, leaving them there to die.

The couple were rushed to the Bafoussam Regional Hospital where 68-year-old Julienne Massi died. Her husband meanwhile, came out of comma yesterday Monday, and is responding to treatment.
