A woman by name Dame Salamatou who allegedly kidnapped and killed her nephew in Bertoua, has been arrested in Bafoussam, West Region.
Dame Salamatou is said to have in December 2021, kidnapped the 12-year-old boy Ahmadou and requested the sum of 15 million, which the family denied paying.
Faced with the family’s refusal to give in to the kidnappers’ blackmail, and having found that the 12-year-old young Ahmadou had recognized him, the woman is said to have ordered that young Ahmadou be killed.
Meanwhile, the child, after recognizing his aunt, rejoiced as he thought she was going to save him. He rather met his demise.
After being killed, the young boy was thrown into a well while the aunt in question decided to flee.
Few days ago, she woman was intercepted in Bafoussam by the elements of the Gendarmerie Legion of the West.
According to the forces of law and order, she intended to go to Nigeria to seek refuge, far from Bertoua where she committed the crime.
Meanwhile, her accomplices had been arrested months earlier in the city of Bertoua in the East.
She has now been taken to Bertoua where the investigation was opened.
