Beyegue Assiene Kisito brutally beat up his wife Ngo Yon Pétronille on the night of April 30, 2023, leaving the community in shock and bewilderment, as this was not the first time it was happening.
It is still unclear if a victim of domestic violence will get justice in Bafoussam, West region of Cameroon after an agent of the Military Security brutally beat her up, deforming her face.
The man whose name MMI got as Beyegue Assiene Kisito brutally beat up his wife Ngo Yon Pétronille on the night of April 30, 2023, leaving the community in shock and bewilderment, as this was not the first time it was happening.
However, according to neighbours, this has been going on for a long time, but this time, it was more brutal and they feared for the woman’s life:
“We could hear the cacophony coming out from their house as he pounded on his wife. We were really scared he will kill her this time, but none of us dared intervene. You know how things are, he could just kill anyone who tries and he will get away with it,” explained a neighbour.
Other witnesses confirmed that the violence has been ongoing and there is often no “justified reason” before the man pounces on his wife and beat her up.
“The victim has gone to the SEMIL, Bafoussam branch where the soldier works several times to report the matter to his superiors, but her trips were all in vain as no action was taken,” a source disclosed.
Ngo Yon Pétronille is currently dangling between life and death following the severe beating and torture inflicted on her by her husband.
