Delly Singah: the pace- setting philanthropist

Known for her jovial and fun personality, Delly Singah has for years now been touching the lives of young people in different ways.From her activities in the media to humanitarian work and even helping others find love, Delly has been exceptional.

How did she get to this level?The Cameroonian-born UK-based Media Personality, Matchmaker and Philanthropist hails from Ngie Subdivision, Momo Division of the Northwest Region of Cameroon.After bagging a Maîtrise in Management and Economics from the University of Yaounde II-Soa, she moved to the UK where she later graduated from the University of Wales Institute of Cardiff UK where she obtained a Masters in Corporate Finance. She later graduated from the Royal School of Ministry UK where she obtained a Diploma in Theology.Driven by her passion for the underprivileged and disadvantaged, Delly started her own Charity organization to assist orphans, widows, prisoners and vulnerable persons in Cameroon known as the Delly Singah Foundation.

“It was motivated by my personal life challenges growing up as an orphan,” she tells Mimi Mefo info.
“If we do not help ourselves and our community, who will?” Delly asks, explaining that she has always wanted to be part of the change she wants to see around her knowing firsthand what it means to live in deprivation.
Moved by the number of singles finding it hard to interact and start up meaningful relationships, she set up Delly’s Matchups, a platform connecting singles worldwide.

“There is no doubt that social media has revolutionized the way people meet and interact with each other and much harder to find and forge meaningful relationships,” she says. Another area where the talented lady is making strides is the media. Her Delly TV, she says, aims to provide news and entertainment, told by Africans but with a global audience in mind. According to her, the African adage that “until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter” lies at the heart of it all.
Despite all these, the media sensation notes that she, like everyone else, is not infallible. Quizzed about her idea of an ideal world she would like to attain, Delly told MMI: “It would be one where the love of God and neighbor thrives, a world where children are worried about the different career and opportunity choices, rather than whether they will live through the next day and a world where parents can plan a retirement with their grandchildren, rather than worry each day if their child will survive.”Being a role model to the Cameroon girl child due to her challenges, hardships and triumphs, Delly encourages them to hold on and not lose sight of their goals.To be able to attain their dreams in future, she tells young girls “self-discovery and becoming the real you, is more important than anything else”.
