Four persons remain missing in the sea in Kribi, South region of Cameroon. Five others drowned on Sunday but reports say one body has been found. Some inhabitants of Kribi said periodic disappearance and deaths in the sea have increased in the past months. Meantime, the phenomenon has also been attributed to attempts by visitors to swim in the high sea.

Wounded persons after a road accident that occured in Njombe along Douala Bafoussam today, August 13, 2019, are receiving medical attention in hospitals. A bus belonging to General Travel Agency from Bafoussam collided with a heavy duty truck. No dead has been recorded but some passengers went unconscious.

3 Inhabitants of Douala have been complaining of continuous traffic congestion at rond point Deido despite an intensive rehabilitation work carried out in the stretch of road recently. Commuters are accusing the road construction company for not expanding the road enough to ease traffic flow.

4 Cameroon National Youth Council, Bamenda III Sub division has called for an effective school resumption in the municipality. In a release sign today August 13, 2019 by the vice president of the youth council Chenwi Reuben, the youth council acknowledges the existence of the Anglophone problem, but says kids should not be deprived of their fundamental rights to be educated. For an effective school resumption, National Youth Council Bamenda III section calls on those shooting to spare schools, hospitals, population and the entire municipality for effective classes to begin.

5 A greater part of Cameroon’s political capital, Yaounde is still in darkness following a technical fault reported this week. Most activities that depend on electricity to remained come to a halt. Workers of the lone electricity company, say they are working to repair the damage.

6 The body of Sadou Hayatou Cameroon’s former prime minister has been laid to rest in Garoua. Paul Atanga Nji, Minister of Territorial Administration presided over the burial on behalf of the government. Sadou Hayatou died in Switzerland last week at the age of 77.

7 Worker of the 50 thousand capacity Paul Biya Stadium in the Olembe Neighborhood of Yaounde today went on strike.
The angry workers who were sent on a technical leave, blocked the main entry point into the sport edifice. They say the construction company has not paid their salaries for over 6 months.

8 The Governor of the Littoral Region, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua will tomorrow August 14, 2019, inspect construction works on secondary access at the east entry way into the city of Douala.
The Governor to be accompanied by ENEO, Camtel and MAGIL officials, will visit the Ndogpassi III and Ngodi-Bakoko accesses.

9 Authorities in Ethiopia are proposing a law that will ban prostitution and begging in the streets of the capital Addis Ababa. They want people to find proper accommodation off the streets. There is an estimate of between fifty and one hundred thousand people living in the street of Addis Ababa.
