The brutal murder of a 35-year-old mother of four in Muyuka, South West region of Cameroon has sparked a lot of outrage.
Labelled a blackleg, her throat was cut and her body pulled across the road as blood oozed out of her body.
Since the video made rounds online, many have condemned the act perpetrated by suspected separatist fighters.
Barrister Akere Muna says it was barbaric and unacceptable. “I was unable to complete watching a most gruesome video. An incident which supposedly took place in Muyuka, South West Region of Cameroon. Hands tied behind her back, a lady is hacked to death with a machete. Whatever the cause, this is most barbaric and inhuman. Unacceptable!” He wrote.
Illara Allegrozzi of the Human Rights Watch shares a similar view.
“Cameroon: verifying horrific video circulated yesterday on social media showing a woman in Muyuka, South West, tortured by alleged separatists who slit her throat accusing her of informing military. Unspeakable violence. Sources say yesterday separatists also beheaded a man in Ndop, North West,” the senior researcher stated.
Cabral Libii has also joined the condemnation bandwagon.
Key separatist leaders have however remained mute over the incident, a third of such happening in the past few weeks.
